WATER ROCKET
Design, build and launch for maximum horizontal distance!
Teams of two participants will design and bring their own water rocket for a supervised launch challenge. Each team will receive two launch attempts using the organizer-provided launch pad, and the best valid horizontal distance will be considered for scoring. Rockets will undergo a safety inspection before launch. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with judging based on official distance measurements recorded by the event officials.

All necessary telemetry instructions, workspace desks, power supplies, and competition field infrastructure are maintained and provisioned on-site by Kumaraguru SEDS organizers.

RULES & GUIDELINES
- RULE 01 Bottle Volume: Rockets must be built using standard commercial carbonated plastic bottles up to 2.5L capacity. Metallic or glass pressure vessels are strictly banned.
- RULE 02 Launch Pad Compatibility: Organizer-supplied launcher will feature standard Gardena-type quick-connect nozzle couplings.
- RULE 03 Propulsion Medium: Pure tap water and compressed air only. Chemical additives, fuels, or reactive accelerants result in instant disqualification.
- RULE 04 Operational Pressure: Organizers regulate and monitor compressor pressure up to a maximum safety ceiling of 80 PSI.
- RULE 05 Flight Scoring: Each team is granted 2 attempts; maximum valid down-range ground distance recorded by range laser will be retained.
EVENT TIMELINE
Structural inspection, pressure safety verification, and fin alignment checks.
Range safety protocol briefing, wind speed calibration, and firing sequence review.
First round of launches for all verified teams with telemetry tracking.
Teams recalibrate water volumes and fin trims for optimal ballistic arcs.
Final round of competitive launches under identical atmospheric conditions.
Laser distance validation, score compilation, and trophy awards.
